Eat The Cake Band is a goddess-fronted Alternative Hip Rock & Soul collective from the Baltimore/DC area creating music for people who are done waiting for permission.

Permission to be loud.
Permission to be strange.
Permission to change.
Permission to take up space.
Permission to choose joy.

We believe too many people spend their lives waiting for the right time, the right approval, the right version of themselves.

We don't.

That belief lives inside everything we create.

Our sound crashes together rock, hip-hop, soul, funk, indie, and whatever else the song demands. With a full ensemble of musicians and vocalists, our live shows move between massive guitars, layered harmonies, heavy grooves, raw emotion, movement, and moments that feel somewhere between a concert, a celebration, and a beautiful act of rebellion.

But Eat The Cake Band was never meant to be just a band.

The cake is the thing you've been told to save for later.

The dream you'll chase someday.
The clothes you'll wear when you're brave enough.
The art you'll make when you're ready.
The life you'll live when someone finally tells you it's okay.

We say:

Joy isn't something you earn after you've suffered enough.

Joy is resistance.

Joy is choosing to be fully alive in a world constantly asking you to make yourself smaller.

That's the movement behind the music.

An Eat The Cake Band show isn't about standing politely in front of an audience and playing songs.

We want communion.

Sweat.
Voices.
Guitars.
Bare feet.
Cake.
Smoke.
Movement.
People singing words they didn't know an hour ago.

Every performance is an invitation to leave something behind: fear, restraint, perfection, waiting, whatever has been whispering "not yet."
